“How can a stolen TV worth $1000 equal a great marketing opportunity?”
I wanted to share a little story about one of ournew Local GKIC Chapter Members, Alice DiPirro ofthe PR Store.
Alice is a unique girl. She operates the local PRstore franchise coming purely from a graphic design background. When I met her for the firsttime and shared “Kennedy-style” marketing with her, by the look on her face you could tell she was having an intellectual seizure.
Since she attended her first GKIC Local Chapter Meeting back in November, I have seen immense transformation. She has gone from being purely a graphic designer owning a marketing firm to a marketer with graphic design background.
Just look at her testimonial from our local chapter website:
“What were you doing at 4am? I woke up with agreat sales letter idea. If you want REAL marketing ideas, which include the “how-to-do-it”part that really works, then I suggest you get involved with this group. My sales have already dramatically improved and I have only barely begun to implement what I am learning. See you at the next GKIC meeting.” – Alice DiPirro, PRStore, Pasadena, CA
So, how does all this translate into the headline above?
Well, one of Alice’s transformational breakthrough ideas was to start using testimonials. Since we are in Pasadena on Colorado Blvd., on January 1st Alice figured she capitalized on the captive audience of those literally camped outside her door waiting for the Rose Parade.
She put a wide-screen plasma TV up in her store window, with marketing messages and video testimonials for all to see. She figured there were many people in the crowd who might want to start their own businesses, and she designed her message to match that market.
So, the Rose Parade has come and gone. It’s January 28, 2008 as I write this message to you,and well… the TV did catch attention to many, and – to a burglar. Someone threw a brick through the PRstore’s front door and snatched up the plasma “marketing machine” sitting in the front window.
I felt devastated this morning walking into her office. But, I can only imagine what Alice felt. After about 1/2 hour of silence, I decided to ask her, “are you ok?”
She responded with aresounding “NO!”, but here’s what I’m doing about it!” She said (and I’m not joking here), “Dan Kennedy to the rescue!”
As a good Dan Kennedy student should, she decided to take action and turn her $1000 stolen TV into a great marketing opportunity.
Introducing: “The PRstore Break-in Sale & Contest”
Contest guidelines: Guess how far the brick knocked the glass from the front door into the store, and win a prize!
The real message I want to convey to you here is this: As a local chapter director, it is INCREDIBLY satisfying to see our members take what they’ve learned (in such a short time) and put it to use. Alice is the epitome of a successstory-in-the-making using Kennedy-style marketinglearned first by attending her local Glazer-Kennedy Insider’s Circle Meeting…and by constantly reading and studying Dan Kennedy’s materials.
By the way, she’s registered for the Super-Conference with both Ramon and myself to see Dan, Bill Glazer, Gene Simmons, George Ross, and amultitude of other multi-millionaireentrepreneurs share their experiences. Are you?
Being a successful entrepreneur is about TAKING ACTION and finding opportunities where others see problems.
Come be around other success-oriented,entrepreneurial-minded business people andachieve more in the next 12 months than you have in the previous 12 years!
If you haven’t already RSVP’d for our 1/29 meeting, please visit our website at http://GlendalePasadenaGKIC.com and do that now. I look forward to seeing you there!
My very best to you,
Craig Valine,
Local Chapter Director
